Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 28, 2026

Maharashtra Computer Airoli ("MCTI," "we," "our," or "us") operates MCTI Learning (the "App") and the website mctiapps.com.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect or process, how we collect it, why we use it, when it is shared, how long it is retained, and the choices available to users. It also explains the special data sharing that occurs when a user chooses to use the optional Ask AI feature.

Ask AI summary: Ask AI is optional. Before any Ask AI information is shared with our third-party AI provider, the App identifies the provider, lists the information that will be sent, explains its purpose, and asks for the user's explicit permission. Selecting Not Now does not prevent the user from accessing the App's other available features.

1. Who Controls Your Information

Maharashtra Computer Airoli is responsible for the personal information processed through MCTI Learning. DeepSeek does not operate MCTI Learning and does not independently determine which student-account information is selected by the App for an Ask AI request.

Privacy questions, permission-withdrawal requests, access requests, and deletion requests may be sent to us using the contact information at the end of this Policy.

Provided when the user uses Ask AI or generated when MCTI stores the conversation and processes the request.

Users should provide only information that is necessary to use the App. Please do not submit another person's personal information unless you have permission and a lawful reason to do so.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information described above for the following purposes:

We do not sell or rent student personal information. We do not use student information for third-party advertising, and we do not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies for advertising purposes.

4. Ask AI and DeepSeek

Ask AI is an optional educational assistant. It uses the application programming interface provided by Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence Co., Ltd. ("DeepSeek"), a third-party artificial intelligence provider, to process an Ask AI request and generate a response.

MCTI's server prepares the information needed for an Ask AI request and sends it to DeepSeek through an encrypted HTTPS connection. DeepSeek does not receive the user's MCTI password, authentication token, Firebase notification token, or MCTI database identifier as part of the prepared AI request.

Information sent to DeepSeek

After the user gives explicit permission and submits an Ask AI question, the information sent to DeepSeek may include:

We do not intentionally include the user's name, student identifier, username, email address, phone number, date of birth, profile photograph, password, device identifier, or notification token in the prepared AI request. However, DeepSeek may receive such information if the user types it into a message or if it appears within content that is included in a relevant course-material excerpt. Users should therefore avoid entering personal or sensitive information in Ask AI.

Why the information is sent

Ask AI information is sent to DeepSeek to understand the user's question, use relevant conversation and educational context, generate an answer, and support safety, security, and abuse-prevention measures associated with providing the AI service. MCTI does not authorize DeepSeek to use identifiable MCTI student information for advertising, sale, independent profiling, or unrelated marketing.

AI training and service improvement

MCTI will use available provider settings or contractual controls to opt out of using MCTI Learning API inputs and outputs for general AI-model training wherever that option is available. We do not authorize the use of directly identifiable MCTI student information for general model training. If DeepSeek's applicable Open Platform practices materially change, including any change to training use, retention, processing location, or the categories of information shared, we will update this Policy and obtain new permission before sharing information under the materially changed practice.

DeepSeek terms applicable to the integration

DeepSeek states that its consumer Privacy Policy does not itself describe the processing rules for personal information collected from end users of downstream applications developed through its Open Platform. MCTI is therefore responsible for providing this disclosure and responding to MCTI Learning users' privacy requests. DeepSeek processes the API input under its applicable Open Platform agreement and related provider terms.

5. Ask AI Permission and Withdrawal

Before any Ask AI information is transmitted to DeepSeek, the App displays a disclosure that identifies DeepSeek, describes the categories of information that will be sent, explains why it will be sent, and asks the user to choose between Not Now and Allow & Continue.

Withdrawing permission stops future sharing but does not, by itself, delete earlier chat history or information already processed. Users may delete an individual Ask AI conversation from chat history and may contact us to request deletion or other available privacy rights.

6. AI-Generated Content Notice

Important: Ask AI responses are generated by artificial intelligence and may contain inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or outdated information. Responses are provided for educational and reference purposes and should be independently verified when important.

Ask AI is not a substitute for an instructor, official course material, or professional medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice. Users remain responsible for decisions made using an AI-generated response.

7. Third-Party Service Providers

We use service providers only where needed to operate, secure, support, or improve the App. The principal providers and disclosures are:

Provider Purpose Information involved

We require every third party with whom we share user data to provide the same or equal protection of user data as described in this Privacy Policy and required by the App Review Guidelines. Providers may process the data only for the disclosed service, security, legal-compliance, and other purposes permitted by our applicable agreement and this Policy. If a provider cannot maintain those protections, we will stop sharing personal information with that provider or disable the affected integration.

More information about provider privacy practices is available at:

8. International Processing

MCTI is based in India. Some service providers may process information in other countries. DeepSeek is based in the People's Republic of China, and Ask AI information sent to DeepSeek may be processed there or in other locations used for its Open Platform. Google, Apple, Hostinger, and other contracted providers may also process information in countries where they or their subprocessors operate.

Where information is processed outside the user's country, we require appropriate protections consistent with this Policy, applicable law, and the App Review Guidelines.

9. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing institute services, maintaining educational records, operating the App, resolving disputes, protecting security, and complying with legal obligations.

Backup copies may remain for a limited period until overwritten through routine backup cycles. Certain records may be retained longer where required by law, necessary to establish or defend legal claims, or needed to prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.

10. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on applicable law and the nature of the request, users may:

Withdrawing permission affects future processing and does not make earlier processing unlawful. Some information may be retained when required or permitted by law, or when necessary for legitimate security and recordkeeping purposes.

11. Account and Data Deletion

Users may request deletion of their MCTI Learning account and associated personal information by contacting us using the phone number or email address below. Users should contact us from, or identify, the account for which deletion is requested. We may ask for reasonable verification to protect the account from an unauthorized deletion request.

After verification, we will process a valid deletion request within 90 days, unless a shorter period is required by applicable law. Account-related information will be deleted or anonymized, except for information that we are required or permitted to retain for educational administration, legal obligations, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or the exercise or defense of legal claims.

Deleting an Ask AI conversation from the App removes that conversation from the user's active MCTI chat history. To request deletion of information that may have been processed by an AI provider, contact MCTI and identify the relevant account and conversation as accurately as possible.

12. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, loss, or destruction. Measures include encrypted network transmission, authenticated server access, access controls, secure authentication tokens, account and device-security rules, and restrictions on the information prepared for an AI request.

No electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should protect their credentials and should not share passwords, authentication tokens, or sensitive personal information.

13. Children and Student Users

MCTI Learning is intended for authorized students and institute users. We recognize that some students may be minors. We handle student information with additional care and require compliance with applicable laws concerning children's and students' personal information.

Ask AI is optional and is not intended for submitting sensitive personal information. Where parental or guardian permission is required by law, Ask AI should not be used until the required permission has been obtained. A parent or guardian may contact us to ask about, correct, or request deletion of a minor's personal information, subject to verification and applicable law.

14. App Store Privacy Summary

Depending on the features used, the App may process Apple App Privacy data categories including Contact Information, User Content, Photos, Identifiers, Product Interaction, Other Usage Data, Diagnostics, and Other Data such as educational progress and attendance. Much of this information is linked to the user's institute account because account linkage is required to provide personalized learning and administrative features.

The App does not use this information for cross-app tracking or third-party advertising. App Store Connect disclosures are intended to remain consistent with this Policy and will be updated when the App's practices change.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App, service providers, data practices, security measures, or legal requirements. The updated Policy will be published on this page with a revised Last updated date.

If an update materially changes the AI provider, the information shared with it, or the purposes for sharing, the App will request new permission before sending information under the materially changed practice.
